SCSI External Cables

SCSI External Cables come in many flavors, so be careful in choosing. The external SCSI connectors you will find will be centronix 50 ( IDC50, C50 ), HD-50, HD-68 external, and VHDCI-68.

Something important to note is that there are two main signaling types designed to increase the length of external cables, LVD ( Low voltage differential ) and HVD ( High voltage differential ). LVD cables are by far the most common so you should ensure that you do not use HVD cables, unless they specifically say they are designed for both LVD and HVD, for LVD devices. If you have an HVD device, please be sure you are picking the correct cable as there have been a few implementations of this signaling.
