IDE / EIDE Cables

IDE / EIDE Cables are a common way to attach consumer hard drives to computers. Although many pc's now use Serial ATA Cables or SATA there are still many IDE / EIDE drives in existence and sold new that need cables. You will notice 40 and 80 conductor cables available, they both have the exact same number of pins on the connector, but the 80 conductor cables have 80 wires as opposed to 40 in the actual cable. The 80 conductor cables were designed for ATAPI5/UDMA4, so to get the full performance out of those drives you should ensure you use the correct cable.
